The school also has a Dual Degree Program in which students can earn their baccalaureate and MBA in just five years. The Department of Business Administration is the largest department at York College, and it is also one of the strongest, with ties to local businesses such as Harley-Davidson, York International, and others. Also in York is the Yorktowne Business Institute which offers business management and computerized accounting programs, and the Consolidated School of Business which also offers business administration and computerized accounting, as well as computerized office management. Penn State-York is also an option for those seeking an associate's or bachelor's degree in business. Also located nearby are Gettysburg College, Dickinson College, Messiah College, Harrisburg Area Community College, and Millersville University of Pennsylvania - all offering business degrees.
The employment outlook remains strong in York. Currently, nearly 13,000 people are employed in management occupations, with the total expected to hit nearly 15,000 by 2012, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and about 4,500 people currently have business/financial operations jobs, with another 1,000 jobs to be created by 2012.
