Engineering students can take advantage of Penn State University - York which offers bachelor of science degrees in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology (EMET) and in Information Sciences and Technology (IST). Penn State York also bestows associate degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology, Information Sciences and Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Four engineering degrees and eight graduate programs are available from the Widener University School of Engineering in nearby Chester.
According to PA Work Stats, engineering jobs in the area are expected to grow by an average of 8.3% from 2002 to 2012 with an addition of 500 jobs. Among engineering job openings, biomedical and environmental engineering specialties are forecast to offer the largest job growth opportunities through 2012.
