In the York region, students have an array schools to choose from in their pursuit of environmental studies. Examples are Penn State - Harrisburg offering environmental engineering, geology, environmental technology, and physics; York College of Pennsylvania offering biology and chemistry; and Messiah College offering biochemistry and environmental science.
Through 2012, an occupational projection for environmental workers in York looks good. Environmental engineers positions should experience an 5.2% increase in annual job opportunities; environmental engineering technicians are predicted to see a 3.7% increase in the job market; environmental science and protection technicians should have an annual 3.3% growth; and environmental scientists should experience 1.9% more job opportunities annually.
